Gents,
Has anyone got any experience of updating the software version on their Gap iid ??

The reason for my question....
My iid has never been updated since purchased by me in approx 2015/16.
I know that the latest version includes an oil contamination reading which mine doesn’t.

I have been delaying updating it thinking that I would do it as soon as Gap updates it to include the ability to manually force DPF regeneration but this seems not to be happening so ,maybe I should just do it now.

Any tips and guidance would be appreciated.

I have read the iid handbook and am a bit concerned that it seems to say that it can only be updated once, therefore if they do eventually sort out DPF regeneration, it might be a problem updating again. G reg 2.5VM Vogue Portofino red 1991- 1999

Plug it into your computer and look for updates its as easy as that did mine in January

Updating is easy as Tinman says.

If you're concerned about the ability for further updates, perhaps email Patrick for the best answer, but my reading is that you can keep the IID updated as and when they occur.

Thanks Richard & tinman,
I have emailed Pat with a copy of my forum post.
He has replied very quickly , but alas, no DPF regeneration update in the near future, so I intend to go ahead and try to at least get to the latest build level.
I did expect to have to pay for updates because the handbook says it is free for 12months from purchase, but he says their is no charge.
I will update this post to report my efforts.

if you want to update the iidtool to the latest firmware then log in to your GAP account , go to 'product activation and management' and download the latest uploader.

Tried to do mine and it is not seen when you plug it in. Tried 3 different pc too.
