Thanks for posting the video. Assuming the Defender S 110 featured costs at least £45,000 I'd say a 16 405 with either the 4.4 SDV8 or 5.0SC and maybe 30-40,000 miles would be better value. But then I find it hard to see past the RR...

Don't know how much i should say on an open forum... JLR was on the phone to Grange LR & to Simon VERY soon after the YouTube vid went on line... I went down the day after he collected it and i drove the car approx 3 miles before it went into limp mode again! Just as JLR rang Simon to discuss "The Video" 'te he' "you couldn't write it could you!"

For a 2.0 petrol it felt very powerful, comfortable and very utilitarian! As i said before, a perfect replacement for the D4 when the time is right...

Despite the "old peoples box car" styling at the back it's actually quite nice, but it's not really a Defender by any means is it ?

When he did the shot of the two cars back to back, I thought the Defender looked badly proportioned and it struck me how despite its years, the D4 is still a good looking car.

I liked his description of the floating square in the back window as the for sale sign.

I do like the new Defender and would like a 90 with the 4 cyl petrol, so I'll be interested to see how he gets on with the car long term.

I think if you asked a 'non car' person to say which they thought was the more modern car, they would choose the Discovery. The Defender's rear door spare wheel, more upright windscreen, rear seats that don't fold flat and other less practical features all make it look old fashioned. 2017 SDV8 Autobiography

Anybody seen the update to this?

I saw the video last night where Simon fixed the car himself on his driveway after it having been to the dealer and returned with the same fault. LR Assist had been out twice and the issue persisted.

There was a pipe hanging off down by the petrol particulate filter. It still had a yellow clip on it that I think is removed to tension the clip once the pipe is fitted.

Pretty disappointing when you have to fix your own car that is a week old.

I noticed today that the video has been made private so nobody can view it. Perhaps Land Rover have become embarrassed.

He made a comment on the latest vid saying he pulled it , seemingly not through jlr pressure but the comments were getting out of hand.

And that is why I just don't want a new car from JLR. Kims evoque has been riddled with faults and weekly has a dashboard like a Christmas tree, so glad its going back in July!!!

It was bad enough being bent over for no warranty repair when I had a warranty but if I got that home after spending 60-70k and it was in limp mode, then I'd have no question but to just drive it back and ask for my money back!! It's like if I did that with an IT system for a bank of central government client after spending all that money on research they would bleedin sue me, so why cant they produce a new car that doesn't have faults!! all smug in my new plug!
