2017 Range Rover Evoque Buying Advice

Afternoon all,

Have posted this on the BabyRR forum as well but it seems to be very quiet over there so thought I'd ask here as well!

My sister has a put a holding deposit on a 2017 Range Rover Evoque and is trying to get to view it over the next day or two.

The car she's put a holding deposit on is a ex Land Rover UK car I think (Reg is OY17) and has done 36k miles. It's being sold by a Land Rover dealer as an Approved Used car with a warranty on it and seems to be a nicely spec'd car. I can't work out what was standard on the Autobiography and what was an optional extra.

https://used.landrover.co.uk/search#/details/3026379

We've never had much to do with the Evoque before apart from having one as a courtesy car in 2015 for a day.

Is there anything in particular to look out for on them when we are able to get a look at it? Are there any must have options on them?

Thanks,

To be honest, if it comes with a warranty, I wouldn’t worry.

I’ve had ewoks and disco sports as courtesy cars too and apart from the boot trim falling off a disco they’ve been fine.

A mate of mine had a 2016/17 disco sport with the ingenium diesel and had a few vibration/rattle issues, but again if it’s warrantied then it’s their problem. AB is a difficult spec to get a handle on as it’s a box ticking exercise, but looking at the list on that ad someone seems to have ticked most of the boxes..... There is nothing that can't be fixed with a hammer😜😜

That diesel ingenium engine has issues. DPF and oil dilution etc. Well known issue now. Both my siblings have had issues in their Disco Sports.
Been covered in LRM mag a few times.
I’d double check which model years have these issues.

Personally, I’d avoid a diesel ingenium if she’s not going to be doing lots of loooooong runs Thumbs Up Gone to a good home: 2011 4.4 TDV8 Vogue SE Buckingham Blue with Ivory and clear glass = "Rory"

Thanks Guys

She's decided to go ahead with it after we managed to get to view it on Monday evening. It's smaller then I thought but the interior is very nice. The black seats with white stitching and the leather everywhere on the Autobiography make it a really nice place to be.

The only thing that's annoying me is the dealer have said they need to buy a licence from Apple to enable CarPlay on it and they want £200 for it. I'm sure this is bull as I've heard of others being done for nothing. Land Rover even say on their website that certain 16, 17 and 18MY cars are eligible for a complimentary upgrade so I've got a feeling they either haven't looked or don't want to know.

We'll see what they come back with tomorrow.

I don’t think it is BS the fact they have to buy a license. But the fact they will not eat that cost is another matter, and I don’t know the trade price of the license. L405 P400e Autobiography (MY2020)... Silicon Silver / Espresso
