I was visiting my second home last week, on the way back from seeing our own Northern Monkey and picking up a full set of rubber mats including a boot mat.

Duckworths were very busy in the parts department but they managed to sort my request and all the stuff was there waiting..

Two new front discs
Oil for both axles and the transfer box
New sump and oil for the gearbox
An engine filter
Two air filters
Pollen filter.

I had sourced some front pads elsewhere,

Anyway, after giving my self a hernia picking up the mahoooosive discs I loaded up the boot and headed for home, it's a nice cross country drive which gives you plenty of time to forget how hurt your wallet is...!!!

I decided to paint the disc "Top Hats" so just opened the boxes and low and behold they were already painted, the colour looked like grey primer so I gave them a few coats of Anthracite VHT paint and some clear lacquer, again VHT..

They really are huge £1 coin for scale...

What pads did you go for Pete?

I emailed Robin the other day and he confirmed that the current OE is TRW on mine. So I’ve ordered a set of TRW cotec
Pads off of the internet. Am going LR on the discs though, will be interesting to see what they are stamped. I would imagine that they are the same disc as you have as the pads are the same and so are the callipers, rears are different down to a different APB setup though. There is nothing that can't be fixed with a hammer😜😜

I couldn't find anyone stocking the Jarid pads at the moment so went with some I have used before with great results, excellent all round if you use their bed in procedure to cook the resins in the pads, they also are very low dust which I like...

We shall see how they go on a fatty... came from Rock Auto in the USA, they were about £75 delivered and took three days to get here..!!

Had a few sets now and I'm impressed...

We have an IS and an LS Lexus at the moment, the LS has them fitted and this is it's front wheel after a couple of weeks

Brembo is a non licensed brand name Pete... This means ANYONE can use the logo if making any part to fit a vehicle with Brembo brakes... GOOD, BAD or IN-BETWEEN!!!

Pete, The moral of the story is! Don’t be fooled by a nice shiny red Brembo box! Unless it’s callipers from them themselves!

ECP’s sell some truly GASTLY brake pads! And yes you guessed it! They come in a very expensive looking red cardboard box! “Probably worth more than the Chinese pads inside!!!”

Actually those Powerstop ones above are made in China..!!! I've had a few sets and found them excellent, we shall see.. if not I'll hunt down some Jurid ones, everyone seems to be out of stock at the moment... Pete

Same pads on the 322 as the 405 aparently according to the trw site.

TRW (which is ZF’s friction brand) gdb1834 Part no.

Not their discs tho. They don’t do discs not that I can find on their aftermarket site. Though AUTODOC does have TRW ones listed at about £45 an axle..... There is nothing that can't be fixed with a hammer😜😜

Pete, my iPhone was made in China sir! Not everything that leaves China is cheap crap BUT!!! Lots of counterfeit goods do though!
