And unfortunately it often works the other way around, the manufacturer asks for a specific specification and that is what is made for them but the company itself is selling pattern parts that are to a new, higher spec...

As Brian posted above - I wonder how much of the car actually comes from China - I'm sure a fair number of the peripheral parts originate there. |

A bit off topic, but when I was on the Solihull factory tour one of the surprises on the Defender line (which then still existed) was that Defender axles came from Ghana. Maybe the recent supply chain disruption will encourage reshoring, for the sake of the UK engineering industry I hope so. Only Range Rovers since 1988 |

Having all the parts coming from a ‘local’ supply chain in the UK sounds good in theory but you wouldn’t buy the overly expensive car in the end, it’s the same with clothes etc, to buy at the price we want we need ‘sweat shops’ and cheap labour and the might of massive factories and workforce’s that India and China can provide.
