You miss the point. ZF moved it inside the transmission so that there aren’t any wires to corrode or come loose. It’s part of the Mechatronic unit, which is made up from two modules. One is a ‘standard’ valve block assembly – the hydraulic module - and the other is an electronic module which contains the ECU.
