Yes it should have ACP/AA, but if it didn't then the dealer should upload it FOC. They did with my 2018 car. All LR cars from 1984

Just check if there is an HDMI connector in the center console near the USB slots. Mine is April 2019 and doesn't have the HDMI connector so no CarPlay and it cannot be added...

It's an Autobiography, which I think means it comes with HDMI connectivity as standard. It does have the Tv package too. |

My MY17 had Apple Carplay added for free at its last service and it doesn’t have or require a HDMI socket to operate. So I don’t understand why any post MY17 RR can’t have it added as a software update? MY23 D350 HSE

Apple Car Play is on my MY17. I assume it was added with a software update. |

This suggests that so long as you have the 10.2'' Touch Pro touchscreen and a connected USB port that the RR should have Apple Carplay capability. No other hardware capability such as a HDMI port is required. That was the case for my MY17.

Although my car is MY 2019 and has the Touch Pro Duo infotainment system, this is the reply I got from JLR management after 6 months of emails and discussions with everyone I could get my hands on:

Have you taken it to a dealer or two who have experience of activating ACP, and if so what was their response? Could it be anything to do with yours being a hybrid?

Yes. To my understanding, the presence of the HDMI and SIM connectors and also of the two buttons in the overhead console (assistance call and emergency call) are proof of existence of some telemetry module, which is indispensable, in JLR's opinion, for the activation of Apple CarPlay. This is nonsense, as at least one Finnish Jaguar user successfully activated CarPlay in his car (with the same Touch Pro media console), by purchasing the highline USB and HDMI panel from Land Rover, replacing and then enabling it in the car configuration file. As I have no way to edit the CCF, I am still deprived of this function… |

sbradleyrr, you cannot go by registration date, there are too many variables. For example, dealer’s registering/selling showroom vehicles. Differences in spec depend on engine and model too.
