Hi all, have an issue with the HDC on my Range Rover 2010 TDV8. When I press the HDC button nothing happens, no light on the touch screen or dash and the actual switch doesn't light up either. Put the car in low range and drove under 10mph and hit the switch and nothing happened along with the fact no lights on panel display.

Thanks for the replies, I guess the way forward is indeed try it on a steep slope and see if the HDC kicks in or not and if it does then it's just the bulbs on the switch and dash not working. I've never spilt anything on the switch, you can't really see the wires going to the switch that well with the gear stick gator off but might be an idea to take the whole panel off if not too difficult and check for loose / broken wires. |

Have a good read of the owner's manual to see when you can use the HDC. It doesn't need special programmes to be in use, it can be used in normal gears/hi/lo with some reservations. If you don't have the OM then see the Wiki. I would assume the 2010 has similar operation to the 2011-13 so go from there.

Thanks for the advice DrRob, unfortunately you can only go a small distance down The Side these days in cars and probably not enough to test the HDC.

Thanks for that Richard, I have read the manual again and apparently the actual switch button may not light up after all ! certainly the HDC indicator should light up on the dash and the HDC section on the 4 x 4 screen should turn yellow and red. I take it when you press the button you get the little green car on the TFT screen and the HDC message in the centre of the screen ?

Cheers Richard, much appreciated. If you could check to see if the green car symbol shows up on the TFT screen as a bulb check when the ignition is turned on that would be a help. The manual says it should but I don't get that either ! |

That's interesting as it only comes on for me when I select mud ruts on the terrain response, looks like Bellvue Bank here I come 😊 Thanks for checking, that's a little bit more trouble shooting done. |
