Hello, my headlamp lenses on my 2008 tdv8 are going cloudy and crazing on the tops where they hide under the bonnet lip, Would it be sensible to sand them down with say 1500grit wet n dry then go on to farecle G3/G10 or will I fubar em🙄? In the kit I had, if I remember, it started with 800 grit then 1500, 2000 & finished off with 3000. 2012 Orkney Grey Westminster 4.4TDV8 with Ivory interior.........nice!

You dont need to sand them, g3 is ok but mcquires scratch remover is better on glass or plastic lenses
Sorry no before photo but these were pretty yellowish before I started. I do use a machine polisher

There are kits available on ebay, Amazon etc. They do work very well but you need to be patient, following the process fully and not short cut or rush it. Its also a bit of a leap of faith first time ! lol

Yes, you can use different grades of compound and then finally jewel polishing, clean with IPA then use a proper UV safe clear coat.

If you have a friendly body shop and enough time give them the finished polished head lamps and ask them to give 2 or three coats of clear coat when they are painting another vehicle👍 The body shop/ industry available paints tend to be better than the cheap aerosols available at Halfords etc.

Once hardened give the clear coat a sand to flatten and repolish.
