Farecla G3 scratch remover is a very good product for toning scratches down on silver and metallic Black (what I’ve tried it on).

Followed by Meguiars compound on the entire panel, then Meguiars polish, then Meguiars liquid wax. The Meguiars products seem very pleasant, easy to use/ less left over residue; and they do leave a nice finish but perhaps more so if your paintwork is in decent condition to start with.

The 3 Meguiars products mentioned don’t particularly fill/ mask scratches/ swirls a well as other products (IMO) such as AG SRP. However, good though SRP is at masking marks, despite having a big bottle of it, haven’t used it for a long time because the next time the car is washed, it needs more SRP and who’s got time to keep doing that (a good product if you’re putting the car on show, e.g to sell or PX)?

Detailing World is a font of knowledge but blows the mind as to where to start.

If someone could advise (for dark paint), right you want this for the worst scratches, that long lasting polish next and then that glazed finish, that would be most welcome... And the fewer lotions, potions and applications the better due to time constraints

I cleaned my black 03 TD6 on Sunday and polished it using autogym super resin polish. I know I haven't polished a car for many many years however I've been out 4 times just to marvel at the shine.

Well, ours is locked down too so has had Meguiars Citrus wash, Farecal G3 scratch remover on the few places needed, Meguiars, Compound all over, likewise Meguiars polish and then Meguiars liquid wax. Final thing to apply will be Gtechnic G2 liquid crystal:

Ours looks great with the Meguiars but... as mentioned before, not convinced it would look as good on a car that needs tlc. As you say Johnboy, it’s easy to apply and almost therapeutically pleasant to buff off... but... the compound (for example) wasn’t capable of removing the scratches, hence I started with Farecla G3 which is excellent at light scratch removal.

Delighted with the Meguiars finish but trying Poorboys soon methinks...

Damn, need to get mine done, started using detailing kingdom stuff on a recommendation, so far so good, it’s what’s on the pork. Suns still out so that looks like today’s job.

Menzerna polishes, lots in the range so one for every degree of correction.

Prima Amigo glaze.

R222 Carnuba Wax, not great on longevity, but is so quick and easy to apply you can almost do it after every wash.

Patience is the key, especially with the size of a ff. Unfortunately I’m not as patient as I used to be and probably work too large an area at one time so my results are not as eye popping as they used to be. I had real a enthusiasm for cleaning cars back in the day, which has waned somewhat over the years.

Recommended by the chap who detailed ours, it's a "high gloss, dirt repelling coating that cross-links with all surfaces of your car including bodywork, glass and trim providing long lasting protection (as much as 8 months from a single application) and exceptionally easy non smearing application."

"For very best results it is recommended to use a 1:20 dilution of C2 as a quick detailer (spray onto surfaces just prior to drying) once every 3 washes. C2 can also be layered to hide minor surface imperfections (eg marring on soft lacquers)."

Didn't use it as a Quick Detailer for first application. Sprayed it neat onto MF cloth then buffed off with another MF cloth. One panel at a time. Quick and easy to apply. Will try it as QD from here on to see how good it is
