Decent polish for a black Range Rover

Our TD6 is getting on, and has a few battle scars so I'm not looking spend days using a clay bar/detail/ceramic coat etc, just after a decent polish to get it looking blacker (if thats a word). Years ago it used to be t-cut colour magic, is there anything similar that I can use just to make her look a bit more black

Cheers in advance

You could try Poorboys Black Hole.

Some very good reports about it over on the RRS forum.

Another vote for Black Hole. I've used it on a few vehicles and it works well. But like with anything, it is all in the prep work!

And to finish it after using Black Hole, Dodo Juice Purple Haze, saying that they've now got a special formula for blackest of black which is their Black Widow product. For a review and example see here https://www.detailingworld.co.uk/forum/showthread.php?t=386938

But note, that is a finishing wax that should be used on a new or cleaned paint job. So polish first.

Another +1 for Black Hole, though I finish it off with Poor Boys EX-P which gives it that wet look Smile 2013 405 TDV6 Vogue SE Barolo Black

Another vote Black Hole here as well when I had my black L322 I used Black Hole and their pastel wax on top.

I do like the Ex-P never tried it on a black car but works really well on Stornaway Grey.

I find Black Hole is very messy. You can't go far wrong with good old Autoglym Super Resin Polish, topped off with Autoglym Extra Gloss Protection. SRP has fillers and does a nice job of masking swirls - until you next wash it.......... Current: FF Westminster money pit

Scholl S20 worth a look.

Black hole is a glaze and not a polish. Nothing wrong with that, but you're filling scratches, not taking them out. It's a good product, and a quicker job than a proper polish, but it won't last.

As mentioned, Scholl is good, Detailing Kingdom 1.1/Finale is good too, plenty of options. The paint tends to be fairly soft on any FF I've polished, so I'd go in with a light cut first, I'd be surprised if it didn't do the job.

Bearing in mind you're not looking to clay bar/prep, I'd probably pick the glaze route rather than trying to polish

My recommendation goes to Autoglym, but rather than thier Super Resin polish (red square) I would personally go for thier Ultra Deep Shine (dark blue square). It can be a bit of hard work to buff off, but the effort is worth it. I always use Ultra Deep shine on any dark colours, and Super Resin on lighter colours when it comes to my cars.

Cheers all, bought some Black Hole so as soon as I’ve treated her to a proper (long overdue) hand wash and clay bar I’ll be trying it out.

Can I use it on the very faded black wing mirrors too? They don’t look like they were/are Java Black, more like the generic black plastic, the same as the A, B and C pilar covers?

If they are gloss painted they should be fine 👍

Hi Jim
Can’t really tell, they look more like an unpainted Matt black/dark grey plastic? Unless they’ve faded loads over time?
