Perhaps, ask Peter Bleksley to find it? |

So, who did you hand your keys to in the time of ownership?

I'd be relaying that information to the Police. But with the V5 in the glovebox how would that sit with the insurance company.. |

They know and they’ve paid out.

But if it's someone at the dealership it might stop it happening to someone else. |

They had access to both.

Did you have a steering wheel lock on it? I know it’s only a minor deterrent (Disklok aside), but my thinking is that it might at least stop a quick getaway. |

Maybe they signal grabbed when you locked it?

I thought that initially too but because of COVID I hadn’t use the car in over a week and only randomly used it the day before to pick up some supplies so it would have had to have been an extremely fortuitous signal grab.

It's not hard to clone the key but the dealers don't do it themselves, not legit anyway. You have to remove the KVM (Keyless vehicle module) from the N/S/R inner wing, it then has to be stripped and flashed with the new key by some fancy software. Takes just over an hour to do so not impossible if theres a snake at the dealers with the right kit!

Aah. Maybe not then. I’m just flabbergasted about how it was done. And I’m also still seriously gutted. Insurance paid up though with a 6% drop on what I paid for it 6 months ago. Could be worse. ————————————

Sorry to hear of your story, but a 6% loss in 6 months is not a bad result.
