Stolen...

Im sure i won't be the last but my FFRR was stolen from my home at 2pm on Saturday. Simply taken with no fuss and drama (thankfully) which suggests that there was some cloned key issue. I had disabled keyless locking/unlocking as soon as i got it so that didn't deter them that much...

I am absolutely gutted. Only had it for 6 months in my dream spec and i still loved stepping into it every time i did.

So unfortunate that they appear to be so easy to steal. The tracker was jammed or removed and therefore useless with no ping received after it was stolen. All i got was a call from LR to tell me there was a theft attempt and by that point the car was gone. Less than 24 hours after it was stolen the case was closed. Living in London, one of the most CCTVd places in the world, i was pretty appalled at the lack of interest. Im sure if i had shouted some nasties at transgender youth i would have (rightly) been tracked down to the middle of a national park. However it seems someone stealing near on 70k of my stuff doesnt make anyones radar.

Sadly although it was my dream car i think i won't be returning for a while to the fold. Firstly I'm petrified any replacement will just as easily be stolen and my wife is concerned about being a target moving forward. I also feel I will never find one as good as the one which was taken.

Still feeling very wounded and gutted. But looks like its bye for now... ————————————

I still find it shocking how easily they can go. From the sounds of it a professional job, hence the closing it so quickly.

That's hellish, my sympathy to you, so much for the supposed better security of later 405s. I hope you get something else you like, it's tough having to choose a lesser car because of the risk of theft. Only Range Rovers since 1988

Doesn’t sound as if disabling the keyless makes it any harder then!

I thinking of putting an extra tracker on mine. That way if they manage to disable the LR one at least the after market one will still be functioning. There is nothing that can't be fixed with a hammer😜😜

You have my sympathy. At a sh*t time like this, that’s just what you don’t need.

sorry to hear that. I know the feeling all too well.

I also thought what's the point in having something nice and bought a cheap runaround as the next car. 3 months of driving it, I thought why let them spoil one of the few things I enjoy (nice cars) and went and got a 911.

if professional thieves want something they'll just take it. that's want's insurance is for. although you'll never be better off if the worse happens, but that's life.

so my advise is buy something you won't lose loads of money on and we'll see you back on the forum in 3 months Very Happy

A Trap

The odds are it’s a UK national that did the crime, so how far back do you go with the ‘undesirables’ let in? Vikings, Romans, the first humans from to migrate to the UK from Spain ~950,000 years ago, we are ultimately all immigrants and of mixed race.

I think that’s a very racist comment based on no facts or reasonable assumptions

I'm very surprised that the Police haven't nailed them yet, I mean, if you drive to your local supermarket twice in a day now you get stopped!!

Usually parked up and left for a few days to see if there is any interest in the vehicle. Once it's confirmed no one has been around then they move it to either a warehouse to be stripped or placed into a container to be sold overseas. It's a heartbreaking situation to be in but sadly there are a lot of organised gangs out there who have a shopping list of cars to steal.
