I thought the factory tint was actually coloured glass?

Factory tints are not a film on the window.....they are smoked glass......

there are two autoglym glass cleaners - one is safe for 'applied' tints the other is NOT

Dan - if you want to get the glass really clean use the glass cleaner with a rotary polisher - something like the Megs/UDM - not a full blown rotary polisher UNLESS you are experience!!

...also this is not to fix any defects with the windscreens/windows. Car is only 3 months old so nothing wrong, just wanted best way to give a good clean over and above spray window cleaners.

Awesome! That's all I can say. Tried last night on shower glass and it's come up better than expected. Live in very hard water area and so had water stains on glass when catching the light at right angle (even the cleaner couldn't remove these, and she's good!) All completely gone.
