Transfer Box ECU / PDC ECU - Communication Error

Hi all,

During the recent work on the car, I've been using my diag tool to check various things and for the most part, haven't had a problem, until I decided to go through all the options and see if there were any codes left I was unaware of.

When it comes to communicating with the Transfer Box ECU, it throws an error and won't talk to it.

I also get the same issue with the PDC ecu I retrofitted, but this might need to be configured in properly so I'm not worried about it too much at the moment.

Any ideas on the Transfer Box ECU not playing? I've tried two different diagnostic tools and both have the same issue.

Had same sort of thing when bought mine, cover was missing from ecu which sits behind the battery so water had got into it and corroded the pins had to get second hand one in the end and replace couple of connectors, might be worth a look at.

Was the ecu a straight swap or did it need programmed in?

Actually, little update to this, had to disconnect the battery whilst I tackled what wiring issues I could, and after reconnecting, both the PDC ECU and Transfer Box ECU are now working, and I've been able to check and clear codes correctly.

Good, amazing what battery off can do. But just in case, found ecu with same part number had to redone couple of pins in connector then could clear codes no codding in needed.

Good to hear no coding is needed, I have a spare just in case, and I may well need it - tried it again today and same error.
