My query with this neat solar solution, is that if the cigarette lighter disconnects during the shut down period (mine does) then that means a relay is breaking the positive feed, so my basic logic would reason that charging would don't work?

Mine did the same but there was a thread on here somewhere showing how to make it a permanent feed so I did that and it works a treat. I also use that socket combined with a CTEK adaptor to keep the battery charged when I leave it in the garage. 2011 4.4 TDV8 Vogue SE

New Zealand 2010 Range Rover Autobiography 5.0 SC V8 Galway Green

My battery was in the car, while the car was being shipped from the UK to New Zealand. Left end of October, arrived on Christmas day, no battery issue, it started and ran. Mind you, battery was very new, only a few months old as the original one died. MY 2010 5.0 SC Galway green and sand interior!!
Have the Faultmate MSV2 Extreme to be tinkering with the settings etc. !!

I have a Floureon booster pack which I have used to start my RR a couple of times. Worth having in the car for peace of mind and not too expensive.

Also useful for its USB charging, light etc.

Can't find a link to the Floureon now but there is a list here at various prices: https://kit.honestjohn.co.uk/top-tens/top-10-jump-starters/

But, as others have said, if the battery is good and no known drains then it should start no problem after a couple of weeks. John
