2015 Range Rover Autobiography SDV8 Loire Blue

Thanks! Mission accomplished this morning. The housing does eventually come free, just needs a good hard pull.

England 2011 Range Rover Vogue 4.4 V8 Sumatra Black

when I go on holiday for a few weeks, and leave my car at the airport, I do worry about coming back to a flat battery Sad

not that I have tested it yet, but I do have a very small Petrol generator in the boot, Makro used to sell them cheap years ago, it has a single 13amp socket that allows me to plug my CTEK MXS 5.0 into it, I also have a 10m cable extension reel so the petrol fumes don't enter the car

the clever bit is the APS in the rear boot of the car (page 112 owners handbook), RR call it an Auxiliary Power Socket (APS) , but it's just another cigar lighter socket, and it's always active (it does not need the ignition to be in the on position for it to work) !

so I bought a CTEK accessory cable off ebay for £10 quid that connects the CTEK Comfort Connector to the cigar lighter socket, so I could fire up the genny, and maybe ten mins later turn the key and hopefully the engine starts, maybe leave it for another 5 mins for all the other electrical stuff, ECU's and heating to work, then disconnect the CTEK and turn off genny.

NB am only doing it this way, because I already have a CTEK charger and petrol genny (which I use for work about once a month)

The cable is pretty thin on the CTEK ( it is Swedish made ) , but they must know what they are doing, but the cable they use is thinner than my battery booster cables, but then the cable from the APS to the battery is also on the thin side, as shown below

so I just just assuming it has a chance of working Idea

All sorted
I have taken heavy duty jump lead cable from battery to anderson connector on front to assist with jumping a dead battery and also for plugging in my intelli charger which has anderson fittings👍

Ideally want an external point so i can plug in and charge without opening bonnet especially if car is locked and to save faffing around with manual key opening
Looked in side vent but doesnt appear to be any easy access through to engine bay so prob mount under front bumper with waterproof cap for easy access and jump starting

Is this the sort of think. This is where I mounted mine just below the parking sensor with cover and comes in very handy to both jump start others or when the battery gets low to be able to get access I also have two 3 meter leads so no restrictions on how close the cars have to be together
