Mirror hit by approaching flatbed. Glass broken into three pieces. No damage to mirror shroud.

Have you looked on Fleabay or Amazon? I bought mine for £17 (for an L322) when the retail was nearly £90!!

No experience of 405, but based on 322 prices that sounds about right. I had reversed a mirror into a tree and the housing was broken but the glass survived intact. That cost about £600 I think and I was told it would have been £800 odd had they not been able to use the original glass bit.

Sounds about right. I paid over£190 for the n/s mirror. Because they are electrochromic it ramps the price up massively. Tony

Rather than start a new thread today I kissed wing mirrors with a transit van (who didn't stop) so I need a new drivers side glass, everything else seems to have survived but as its an all singing and dancing, photo chromatic , heated and allows the blind stop stuff to show though I guess its expensive. The questions I have are; is there more than one part numbers (and if so which one do I need) and what's the cheapest source. Geoff |

when you get the replacement make sure you screw in on properly, you dont want it to fall off when you go down the road..

Indeed you have got a good memory, I still miss that car. I assume l405 and l454 (Sport?) are interchangeable. Geoff |

Just bought a stick on one to be going on with. No reply yet from Sophie. There is a left hand one on Ebay for 100 quid so dependent on her reply and if the stick on one is any good I'll keep it and keep an eye out for a secondhand one. I realise I'll lose all the functionality but it was only 7 quid I suspect a new one might be significantly more expensive. Geoff |
