The Triumph Stags were indeed different....and completely useless,hence the popular conversion to the Rover V8.

A friend of mine who was also a good motor engineer had one & it was always having overheating issues.

I think the Stags V8 was essentially 2 Dolomite engines joined together. Sounds nice though.

Indeed they were and along with cooling issues that have already been mentioned, stretchy cam chains could be an issue as well. |
