Speed change motor sometimes stuck in Neutral so when it was in high range i removed motor to dismantle and inspect internally.

Remove the housing/cover from the armature on the shift motor, fit this motor back on, and manually wind the transfer box (spinning the armature by hand) back to high speed .

To be honest, I can't remember which way to spin it, but wind until it won't go any further then put in the key and see where you are. I remember a distinctive clonk or end point. .
