2016 Range Rover Autobiography SDV8 Carpathian Grey

Starting to get excited - but would prefer if the Censored had completed the finance so I can get a delivery date sorted!

We’ve got a big trip home to see family in Scotland in between Christmas and New Year so it’s that I’m looking forward to. Most interested to see if my wife stops getting sick on the twisties and therefore demanding to drive as she has been doing in the l322 🤦🏻‍♂️

What I hadn’t anticipated is my kids literally crying at the thought of the l322 going as it’s the only car they remember us having. Now that’s FFRR loyalty for you!

Finance approved so just waiting for them to hunt down the missing service then they deliver!

Finally sent me a Video of the car. Carpathian with a black roof and ivory inside looks frickin awesome.

Good luck, I have had terrible service from Carrs, wouldn't buy an umbrella from them.
Hope you have better luck.

My local dealer in London is also useless. So I already have low standards... Laughing

Likewise with Carr’s, I couldn’t believe how such a fancy new showroom could be staffed by so many who couldn’t give a s**t.
Thankfully I didn’t buy from them. They (and every other main dealership) do not cover the 3.0 v6 engine on the approved used warranty. They lied to me saying it would be covered. A phone call to the LR warranty company proved otherwise. They couldn’t understand why I wouldn’t buy it ! They did give the deposit back though thankfully. I would have expected better for a vehicle not even 4 yrs old Sad

Hello John. Sorry, I didn't make it clear that it was the 'Approved Used' warranty. Extended from new may be different, though still worth a phone call to find out.

i'm not sure of everything it does or does not cover.

Though I know for sure it does not cover the well known crank seizure problem as it is a manufacture declared defect.

Google is your friend on this matter, it's well documented and has been on one of the consumer programs on the TV

I couldn't actually believe the information on the internet that it was not covered by the warranty, hence my phone call to LR approved used warranty. The answer that it didn't was very openly given by them.

Carrs LR assured me that it was standard practice that LR would pick up at least most/part of the expense if this event should happen, depending......

I requested this assurance in writing from LR which sadly after waiting 2 weeks was confirmed as not forthcoming, only the verbal assurance, which for obvious reasons I was not happy with.

This took place in September this year so I don't imagine it is likely to have changed. Sorry about that.

Well I’m having fun and games. Car is sat at Carr’s ready to be delivered - but they still can’t find this missing service.

Owner has been in contact with them swears it was fine either at Battersea or Wimbledon. Wimbledon have no record. Dealer hasn’t got back to me saying if Battersea have now found the missing one.

Phoned LR extended warranty people - they (down the phone) said that it has been certified as up for approved spec by the dealer and has been confirmed by prior owner that the service WAS done in an email - and it’s been serviced multiple times since then they can see no reason why any claim will not be honoured. Said dealer should be able to put it in writing via them (the warranty people).

Still somewhat concerned so now negotiating on different car at another dealer just in case. Grrrr.

Aaargh..

Dealer has offered a good deal on other car - so now £3k difference between a 57k mile 4.4AB MY16 with every toy Carpathian/Ivory - to 39k mile Waitomo Grey/Ivory 4.4AB MY16 with difference being no hud, steps, RSE or Park Assist. None of which are deal breakers for me..

And the lower mileage car has the 22" diamond turned wheels while the other has 21's...
