Did mine a few weekends ago, nearside a wee bit easier, it’s tight, but patience is key, the lever in the light was really stiff too.

I found that video earlier today - any changes between the 2011 car and the 2017 car? 2017 4.4 SDV8 Autobiography

I found these bulbs on Amazon - seems to be a good deal:

I think I'll give them a go - got to be better than what is currently fitted.....!

Those globes are 35W. My L322 has 50W globes but I don't know what is fitted to the L405.

Still have my Lazer Grille with ST4’s from my old Defender and i’m considering getting a grille and playing with a 3d printer to mount the ST4’s in it for the winter.
I had seen that Craig had mounted one behind the grille but was concerned you’d lose a lot of the available light being blocked by the grille.
I was also looking at replacing the bulbs as well as Xenon’s aren’t for life and they do deteriorate over the years.

It very much depends on the grille you have fitted... Mine worked brilliantly but, i have now removed it as the 2019 headlamps overpower the light bar! Yes, they are that bright! Thumbs Up

I've now fitted the Osram Xenarc Night Breaker Laser D3S bulbs, and they are far superior to the OEM bulbs. Still not as good as the Xenons I had in my L322, but at least I can now see where I am going Very Happy

A very worthwhile upgrade. 2017 4.4 SDV8 Autobiography

Aah, thanks for the update.

Looks like it will be a project for next year now as i head back to work this weekend and won’t be back until Christmas eve.
Give me time to source a spare grille though.

one little trick i also do is to adjust the beams very slightly higher so they cover further on the road..
its best not to adjust to much cos oncoming traffic will be flashing you all the time..

How did you do that please Stan?

So i fitted a set of the osram night breakers and they are definitely an improvement on the standard bulbs.
Still looking at fitting a set of LED driving lamps in the grille though as there are still dark areas in the headlight pattern on the country roads i drive on.

I’m sure the mechanic in your profile can assist.... Filters are in fact so good that in certain circumstances, when the ambient air is already polluted, a diesel car will tend to extract more particles from the air than it emits. Emissions Analytics worked with........etc etc

I bought the ones in the Amazon link above and they are brighter. It's not night and day but they are brighter.

In my case though the lens is a bit cloudy so I'm not getting the full benefit.

In terms of difficulty, it's not hard. You have to unplug the MAF sensors with the red tabs (super-easy) and be prepared to cut a few cable ties to allow the airboxes room to move out the way and you'll need to undo some of the RHS ducting to get access to the place where the back of the bulb sits. That's jubilee clip stuff. LHS was OK though.

There's lever that secures the bulb in place that needs shifting up or down (I can't remember) and the little electrical connector to the bulb is a bit fiddly.

Take it calmly though and you can do both sides comfortably in an hour.

Take a pic on your phone first if it puts your mind at rest.

Ducting removed

Ducting going back on
