Nothing wrong with the depth ...... its the current that's the problem. Good on the driver for keeping within their skill-set and putting caution first.

However, If they had raised the suspension to off-road, got a good run in and kept the speed up, these cars can go up to 1m deep (hell, I have even had an unmodded P38 go through a trench with standing water up to the bonnet with no problems, even with the bow-wave streaming over the windscreen and roof!! Shocked )

also, i thought these latest versions had a depth meter?

I thought they were going to go for it.

There's a depth gauge showing the water level is 3ft - which IIRC is pretty much bang on the L405 wading depth - but they decided on the sensible option - I think the flow rate would have put me off too.

as Alistair says the L405 has a wading depth of 900mm so he could have got across....the 'landrover experience' would have taught him that...

these UPS drivers have nice delivery vehicles... Laughing ... - .- -.

LRE is one thing - you know the course has been extensively tested & they won't have you do anything where success is even questionable.

I don't think I'd take my own RR through 3ft of water - there's too much potential for damage & the insurance position is unclear to me - particularly if there are warnings not to cross.....

Three feet deep and flowing quite quickly - think I’d go another way rather than float off downstream.

A 3ft wading depth is all very well........assuming there is a road under the water and it hasn't been washed away!

That ford is at the back of Sarehole Mill (home to ‘The Hobbit’ and where Tolkien once lived) and also my playground when I was a kid. As stated above, the RR would have got through there no problem. Had they had the driving experience then we’d be talking about the virtues of RR’s not flooded engines etc!

Not a million miles from Solihull and the reg prefix is OE; could be a LR fleet vehicle!

That is one misleading headline !
I was expecting him(her?) to actually go for it and flood the engine.
Good on them for being sensible, which imo makes it a non-story Cool

If it was standing water I would have a go, but not with that current, Too much to risk. Too many toys, not enough time

Green-oval-nut off here would have charged through that in one of his 322's!
