I wouldn't mind but we live on the river and the garden floods every other year - just tried again to convince her stripes were not needed but then she also insists that the next FF has to be petrol and not diesel so she is not always wrong Very Happy

I work in a tool hire shop. We hire , sell repair etc etc.

Personally if your gonna buy a petrol mower only buy something with a Honda engine. And don’t buy it from eBay. There are some good fakes around.

Also make sure you buy some aspen 4. We are seeing a lot of petrol machinery get left with fuel in and the ethanol eats the pipes and turns the fuel to a varnish which is leading to lots of new carbs being fitted.

If you want any more info just let me know. Regards

I’ve had the same Hayter since we moved into our current house over 27 years ago. It’s only ever been serviced a couple of times in that period and appears to be indestructible. It will probably outlive me.

27 years ago Hayter were made very well.

A new Hayter wouldn’t last half that. Unless maybe you brought the highest highest end machine they did. Regards

B&Q do their own self propelled and use a Briggs & Stratton engine if you're worried about rot wash the grass off after use?

Don’t bother buying one from b&q you’ll pay over the odds and it won’t be Briggs and Stratton like you think. It will be rebranded Briggs. Regards

Interesting as I always put additive into the boat over the winter and top it up to reduce the condensation so makes sense to do the same to garden equipment.
Interesting what you say about modern Hayter any make that you recommend or is it a case of Honda or Honda ?
