cant help with a diagnosis tim but its worth while having some kind of video recording device handy when you journey so that you get 'proof' of whats happening..good job its under warranty though.. ... - .- -.

I wondered if it might be something to do with the Diesel Particulate Filters (if the car has them!) even though my car rarely does much stop/start city driving (certainly not enough to clog up the DPF) and it is going through a check cycle. 2018 Mini Countryman Cooper S E All4 PHEV in Melting Silver - it’s whisper quiet in EV and polluter modes |

Have had exactly the same problem...told Stratstone about it when the car was in for its first service 2 weeks ago they say that nothing showed up during the diagnostic check and as far as they are concerned there isn't a problem!!!! |

Sounds like the same problem i had which turned out to be a fuelling issue. I changed both the secondary fuel pump and also the fuel filter and it seems to have solved the problem for now. |

Tim I had a similar thing on my TD6, and that was the auxiliary fuel pump. Discovery 4 HSE
