I was under the idea that all this cars had a DPF, this is a surprise , so one less thing to worry about ! Thank you all for your input, now I only have to worry with the gearbox

EDIT : out of curiosity I went to check, acording to EU law, all diesel powered cars sold in the EU after 2009 must have a DPF fitted.

How this car was registered in the UK when new I have no idea. Now my concern is the day it goes to the MOT

I am absolutely certain you will be fine getting through the MOT. LR Main Dealers are completely aware no two L322s are the same (and they cover for the factory hahaa!) and any non LR specialist MOT centre is unlikely to know what to look for. The ones to avoid are non Main Dealer LR specialists who knows what they are looking for and ready to charge you to install one !!

yes, I see you point, and I agree with you, but I am in Portugal, here the mot is done by specific centers, they are not garages.

Most don't have much knowledge of unusual cars ( yes a 4.4 tdv8 L322 is rare here ) , but at the moment there's been some controversy about people removing the DPFs so fingers crossed !

Clubman look at your build sheet via topix.
The build sheet will say Euro5 or Euro 4 whichever you have.
You'll need your VIN.

Is yours is a 3.6 TDV8?

I would recommend not advertising your absence of DPF to the MOT people in Portugal or wherever you have it MOT'd, however should you be challenged, you can now demonstrate your car was originally delivered without a DPF and therefore has not been modified or had anything removed. You should be fine unless you come across a colossal tosspot.

oh, you can be sure this information will not leave this forum, at the moment, with all this "save the planet, go green " the removal of the DPFs have been heavily talked, so I'm sure a car caught at a reputable MOT station would get failed.

My luck is that there's very few of these cars around here, so the guy at the mot will probably never seen one before, so he will not know better.

a 4.4 TDV8 will do 38mpg.
By keeping our Range Rovers going rather than buying new cars we are saving the planet. My interior is made of 9 environmentally friendly free range cows instead of all the plastic in a Prius.... let alone all the child labour mined battery components shipped from Africa to Japan to Europe!
