England 2007 Range Rover HSE TDV8 Java Black

Morning, I too have the black screen fault and would like to renew my camera. The link for the camera doesn’t seem to work anymore, was wondering if anyone could recommend a good replacement or if this one I have found will work suitably;

Thanks

Hi Mark,

https://www.ebay.co.uk/usr/parkingsensoron...7675.l2559

I purchased from these guys - they had a phone number on the listing I bought from and it was useful to phone them up and express the need for NTSC only and not NTSC/PAL - it gave me confidence after buying two from other sellers that were advertised as NTSC but turned out to be NTSC/PAL.

From what Miggit says, it seems like there are some different requirements based on the year. I think TDV8s are NTSC, but worth making sure you know what you need.

Cheers Mark

All the L322 Range Rovers use NTSC cameras.

But on the 2002-2005 BMW non touch screen system you can change the NTSC to PAL with NavCoder, of if your nearish I'll do it for you... as it's not VIN code locked, Whistle unlike other diagnostic tools that I could mention Wink Yesterday I couldn't spell Engineer... Today I are one!

Mark,

The link just goes to the e-bay seller. Have you got a link to the actual camera that you bought?

Glen.

Hi guys
I have just received my new camera, looking through the posts on here, I understand that you remove all the original bits from the housing, cut the wires, and solder the new connection.
How do you actually fix the camera into the housing, making sure everything is true?
Would appreciate some advice before I start this.

Make sure you don't cut the new cables before the power converter - the little black junction box where the cables are merged, otherwise you wont get the right signal to the screen.

I glued my replacement camera into the old housing, but you could just wrap it with foam or tape so that it fits nice and snug. In the housing on mine there was round recess that the new unit slotted nicely into. Mark the top of the new unit before fixing into place, so that you can tweak the angle and your view is not lopsided.

Good luck.

Update/Warning

The camera I bought from parkingcamerasonline ebay account has let water into the unit and needs to be replaced.

They are sending me a replacement today, it's not convenient, but we live and learn. I will seal this one before fitting it.

Hi Thomas,

i have the same problem as you have.
Seems like the LED have the same common ground as camera and react to the Video-Signal of the Navigation-System.

Unfortunately i haven't found a solution yet but will keep you updated...
