As above, got a feeling my Servotronic valve is playing up, usual symptoms heavy streering at low speeds etc. Is there a way of testing it? Or is it a case of replace, and hope it cures it?

you could disconnect it and see if that makes any difference.. ... - .- -.

Sorry to sound a bit, well, blonde... Will it be obvious as to what it is when i look under the front wheel arch?

many years since i did mine but from memory its behind the wheel arch plastic on the off side front.. ... - .- -.

Follow the track rod end inboard & you'll see it in front & above the driveshaft (you'll need the wheel off)
The connector needs to be depressed to disengage it before pulling off carefully (it can be broken !) Paul,

Have you checked the uj's on the steering?
mine was getting really bad the other week and I too thought the valve was the cause.
After search on here and read a good thread where some one changed all, from the rack to the valve and still made no difference then checked the us's......it was this all along so got my mechanic when doing my FF MOT to check it out.....and low and behold, lower uj was the issue.
Worth looking at that before hand. If it dont work.......burn it!

If the IId tool cant fix it.......burn the FF.

If the FF cant be fixed......buy a Land Cruiser!

If the LC cant be fixed..............................................BUY a horse !!
