i've used 446-462 mhz [5 watt] radios in mine for a while now and have had no problems .. ... - .- -.

VHF and UHF (2m/70cm) would probably be fine, especially with only 5W. But when I'm doing HF (1.8-30MHz) it's 100W and has a much higher potential for causing problems. |

Yes, I've seen that one. But is more in the direction of fitting VHF/UHF. Nothing about HF |

So no special problems with RF interfering with the cars electronic. Sounds promising. Demands of course antenna which is properly tuned.

I have a 477MHz UHF CB in mine with the controls in the mike (main unit behind the passenger side kick panel). The mike is in the sunglasses holder.

I'd like to mount my 2m/70cm rig in the glovebox instead of the CD unit, but I can't see how to remove the CD!
