Removed sidesteps and glad I did

After purchasing my Tdv818months ago one of the first things I did was, replace the totally rotten sidesteps with new ones.
Now 18mths,down the road I've removed the replacements because they too have rotted on the mounting brackets and become loose, rattly and dangerous.
The car looks infinity better and cleaner and sleeker without these ill fitting monstrosities in my opinion especially now I've fitted new, front mud flaps without the recess for the steps and my steps weighed in at 25kg each so a 50kg saving in dead weight, that surely gotta help fuel consumption.. 2008 L322 Vogue 3.6 TDV8 in Java Black with parchment and Navy interior. 125000mls.

I used to be indecisive and have a split personality... but we are ok now...I think?

Agree re looks but deployable steps solve the looks problem while keeping the functionality and they look really cool.during operation too Thumbs Up 2015 4.4 AB

You can use the "fuel savings" to pay for seat bolster repairs and replacements Smile .

I've taken out the front seats for further weight saving and welded a pair of tubular steel garden chairs to the floor.. OK they are a summery flowery fabric but I'm getting an extra 100mtrs per gallon!! Laughing 2008 L322 Vogue 3.6 TDV8 in Java Black with parchment and Navy interior. 125000mls.
