I know there won't be a reply until after the 16th July, But are these just locked to one Vehicle, or do they unlocked to cover all Land Rover's including the Range Rovers? Cheers.

From what I've read they can read codes and reset lights etc on any rr but certain jobs are coded to one car with a license . Things like ecu flashing and security items I'd imagine . You can buy another license to make these features work on another car if you buy second hand etc

At which point do they become locked to VIN - when a new one is first plugged in, or when you first try to do a "restricted" function?

OK, thanks. Was just wondering if I could use one as part of the inspection of prospective car purchases (just reading codes), then lock it to whatever I buy. VCDS on VW/Audi cars allows this; it warns you that the activity you are about to do will use one of your VIN licenses.
