the '753' hack is common knowledge [link in the wiki]

it wont help the 2010-2012 years with a map upgrade i'm afraid.. ... - .- -.

It is also possible to get to some additional (and probably feature-robbingly-dangerous) additional option by replacing the well known 753 with a not-so-well known code of 134679.
be careful - You can completely trolly the system if you have not written down what you changed first (or take a picture of each screen before you play so you can set it back again)
You have been warned.
I accept no responsibility, etc. etc.
And if you get to a screen (such as the video self-test, where there is no obvious way to back out) then power off, engine off, walk away sweating for a few minutes, and then try again. 2017 - L405 SC - WOW! just WOW!
2014 - L405 4.4
2010 - L322 3.6 - Carried me 100,581 miles then broke big-time

There are 10 types of people in this world;
Those that understand binary,
and those that don't.

Ireland 2011 Range Rover Vogue TDV8 Zambezi Silver

I decided to see what happened when I asked my local dealer to update the sat nav. I played dumb...

Although I don't really like dealers generally, the service dept in my local one have always been quite honest and open with me.

It seems to update the 2010-2012 SatNav they have to use a special interface, which here in Ireland at least they have to 'rent'. This cost them 70 euro.

Then, they have to BUY the update files from Here (formerly Navteq). This cost the dealer € 85 (I watched while they bought it).

The purchase required inputting the VIN.

Then they download the file to a laptop, then connect via this rented interface (which I haven't seen yet) to the car. It apparently can take several hours, somit's going to happen next Wednesday.

Yes, the update is only up to 2014/15 - which is poor. For some reason Here have not produced newer map data for this car. If I'd bought the car new in 2012 I'd be pretty annoyed that the sat nav updates only lasted 3 years. I'm sure had that been case I'd have a valid case to complain to LR.

Anyway, we'll see what happens Wednesday.

IMHO.. Not worth spending considerable money on fixing an outdated poor LR satnav system, unless your a stickler for originality and needing everything having to work.
Personally I use, my smart phone on a magnetic mount above the car screen, using several inexpensive but ALWAYS current sat nav apps that Bluetooth voice instructions through cars speakers. 2008 L322 Vogue 3.6 TDV8 in Java Black with parchment and Navy interior. 125000mls.

I used to be indecisive and have a split personality... but we are ok now...I think?

I know, I use Waze or Google maps on my iPhone anyway. But I would like the LR sat nav system to work!

ive come to theconclusionthat they dont move the towns round, and most roads dont change much...... so I've decided to not bother trying to update the system,

if I need to go somewhere that ive not been before I just use google maps. There is nothing that can't be fixed with a hammer😜😜
