AGM battery and the lack of one

Sorry to start a new thread on an existing problem but will the lack of an AGM battery cause a restricted performance fault? My 2010 3.6 has a standard battery on it and I don’t think it’s performing at its best. If I leave a door open the voltage will drop on IID tool to 11.7
If I fit a new AGM will I finally cure the fault? Others say I will on the facebooks.

Thanks 2010 MY Vogue SE TDV8 3.6 Stornoway Grey- fully loaded

I don’t know how the iid actually measures the battery voltage but it is not necessarily a true and accurate reading.
I have proved this 100% by measuring the battery voltage directly across the terminals on my trusty old AVO and comparing it to the iid reading.
My suspicion was raised when I tried using the iid without the engine running, then connecting a CTEK across the battery in order to be able to use the iid without flattening the battery.

Andy 11.7 is about right for reading with an IID sir... Thumbs Up

That said, it should only have an AGM battery if the battery charging system updates were done and yours didn't slip through the net! Whistle Does it have some electrical gibing sat onto of the battery?

I posted on another thread about AGM as my 2011 TDV8 has an 017 flooded battery and I keep getting a 'Low Battery please start engine' warning on the instrument display then everything shuts down.

My battery has a load of stuff partially hiding it - is that how I know whether I should have an AGM or not? 2011 TDV8 Vogue SE

All. 2011 4.4 tdv8’s should have an AGM battery because they did a recall to change out the battery to upgrade to AGM.

The battery control unit is fitted in front of the battery, but it is worth noting some have a fan fitted but some don’t.
Sorry I have no idea why ( Rolling with laughter maybe the fan fitter had a few days off )

On my 2011 4.4 VSE ,even with a new AGM , the low battery warning came up quite often . Even if i open or shut the doors alot during cleaning etc. Never had any trouble with it starting so always thought it was just very sensitive to voltage. On my 2015 4.4 AB you can open and shut the doors seemingly all day and have never had the warning. Both cars have / had deployable side steps. Just my experience sir Thumbs Up 2015 4.4 AB

My 2010 4.4 TDV8 has an AGM battery. I've never seen the low battery warning even when the previous battery was on its way out. The only symptom I had was that the Webasto wouldn't fire up. 2010 4.4 TDV8 Vogue SE

I have something attached to the positive lead that sits down the side of the battery. 2010 MY Vogue SE TDV8 3.6 Stornoway Grey- fully loaded
