United Kingdom 2014 Range Rover Vogue SE SDV8 Firenze Red

Hello everyone,

I am new to RR but I am seriously contemplating buying in the next 2 months. Currently have a E53 2005 X5 Diesel Sport but looking to move up to the best - a FFRR deisel hopefully a 4.4TDV8 Vogue if things work out as planned Very Happy

Anyway, I wanted to say hello and introduce myself, I going to go view the site and gain as much useful info and advice as is possible to aid my purchase and enjoyment of the car once i get it.

Cheers

United Kingdom 2011 Range Rover Vogue SE TDV8 Santorini Black

Hi All

I have had my FFRR for about 3 weeks now - a 4.4 petrol Vogue on a '54 plate. Very pleased with it so far, and just had lpg put on it Very Happy

This is my first FFRR, and I've just upgraded from an old Toyota Landcruiser Colorado which never let me down. Also have a Mercedes S320 CDI which has been the most unreliable car ever.

Just wanted to say that this forum has been absolutely brilliant in helping me choose the car and in changing a few things - eg to digital tv etc. So thanks, guys, and I look forward to enjoying the car and the forum.

All the best
Stuart

United Kingdom 2007 Range Rover Vogue TDV8 Rimini Red

Hi All,

Just this minute joined 'cos I've got a problem (hasn't everyone?!?) Can't get out of the RR habit so sold an '05 and bought an 07 because of the engine.
Had big problems with the 05's suspension, kept collapsing overnight and on accelerating hard on right hand lock from standstill, could get the o/s/f 2 feet in the air! Main dealer couldn't get to the bottom of it but after a year I got to grips with it myself, took the o/s/f strut off, pressurised it, put it in a bath of water and Bingo - air escaping from the top of the strut. Expensive part but solved the problem - no more driving on only 2 transverse wheels!

A different problem on the 07 - it's got brand new 22'' wheels and budget tyres (285/35/22) on it - I know, I know, not the best combination, but I bought it like that in the last week and was prepared for a somewhat less comfortable ride but the car is producing a very strange ride. Initially, the wheels were way out of balance so I had that done together with a 4 wheel re-alignment. This got rid of the wheel wobble but then I noticed that it felt like I was running on tyres with flat spots. Not at the start of the journey but a couple of miles into it. Not sure if it's drive-train or wheel/tyre related - have knocked the gear select into Neutral at 30 mph to see if it was engine related but that had no effect.

Any helpful suggestions gratefully received

Welcome Richard, can't help with the questions but I'm sure someone will be along soon. What wheels have you got? Also love Rimini, need to post pictures up soon.

United Kingdom 2007 Range Rover Vogue TDV8 Rimini Red

Hi Royle,

Thanks for the Welcome.

Pictures?? Absolutely no idea how to do that, 'puters hadn't been invented when I was at school!!

Have to agree that Rimini Red does it for me, 3 previous Vogues were all green strangely so wanted a change. The Black's nice but so many of them, don't do Silver so it was a toss up between Cairns Blue or the Rimini. Had enough of the Ivory Interior, it gets so dirty, so found a Red with a Black Interior - perfect!

Wheels are the Super 7 style alloy shod with Autogrip tyres, I don't expect them to last too long so will be looking for a better made tyre in the near future - ride not as good as with the 18'' rims but.........

Think I've sussed the flat spot problem, looks very much like a seized rear caliper, tomorrow's task!

Most people don't have a foggy how to post a picture to start with either, but you pick it up and becomes second nature. Martin (site owner) made threads to show how to post pictures

Agree with the Black, nice but gets boring and funnily also don't do silver, would much sooner have a white one. Not everyone will agree but just my "taste". Used to not like Black interior until I saw one at my local dealer then loved it, looks very classy. Sounds like a belter of a car so hope you enjoy it (sure you will!)

Royle Thumbs Up

Hi Royle,

Thanks for the 'Links', I'll study them closer another night and give it a whirl. Never been on one of these sites before so looking forward to it and helping others out if possible.

Watch this space - but not too closely lol

Hello All - Another newbie announcing himself.

After a long yearning I eventually got my hand in my pocket and bought a FFRR 2007 TDV8 Vogue in Rimini Red at the weekend. Why have I wasted so long kicking tyres and daydreaming? - It's fantastic. Already this forum has helped me out: downloaded and updated the sat Nav to 2009-10 last night with absolutely no drama. Although I am nervous that I might get arrested for excessive grinning while driving! Smile
