Went out for a lovely steak last night at The Butchers Shop in Mandela Square.

Anyone got any places to go and see (if I get the time)?

Popping back to Cape Town Friday night for nearly a week to see my mate, CPT has become like my second home!

I stay in the Intercontinental in Sandton so here goes...

Vilamoura is a nice restaurant, their version of a decent modern European - not as expensive!

Pigalle is as above but more expensive

You've already done the butchers shop on Mandela square.

Pappas which is overlooking the square but upstairs in the mall is good for a lighter meal.

Thai restaurant I'd avoid

Some like the Raj in the mall for an Indian but there's a new Indian opened walking from mandela square towards the stock exchange... can't remember the name of it but if you're interested I'll dig it out.

Mandela square has a few nice places to east as you also have an African restaurant and Cape Town Fish Market.

Personally (as I endup eating out all the time otherwise) I'll quite often use the gym for an hour or so at the hotel then go across to the food court in the Sandton Sun mall - wide range of takeaway food with healthy options and not-so depending on what you fancy.

If you get bored of the closed-in feeling of Sandton then get a taxi 10minutes out to Melrose Arch where it's all more al fresco and you can safely wander around feeling much more Mediterranean.

In Melrose Arch there's a great Indian called Swad, African food from Moyo and a great burger/nacho type place called JB's corner. I had an apartment there for 3 months last year and it was an enjoyable place to call home for a bit.

Oh and if you want a driver you can trust let me know and I'll put you on to my guy... we've been using him for 2 years now.

We went to a nice Asian place called Koi at Rosebank last night. We have a car and sat nav so have been ok getting around thus far too.
