Personal Handover Experience

Is this something I am allowed to ask about or is it a "best kept secret" type of thing, but I have paid for this and was wondering what to expect Question

Been told LR pick you up from home in a LWB FFRR and drive you to the site where you see the production line and then have some food, enjoy the off road ctr and then pick up your car but that all seems to be too much for one day Question

Anyone shed some light on this either on here or by PM please Thumbs Up "UNDERSTEER" ----is when you hit the fence with the front of the car.
"OVERSTEER" ------is when you hit the fence with the rear of the car.
"HORSEPOWER" ----is how fast you hit the fence.
"TORQUE" -----------is how far you take the fence with you.

Either it is “the best kept secret” or no one has had this experience Question "UNDERSTEER" ----is when you hit the fence with the front of the car.
"OVERSTEER" ------is when you hit the fence with the rear of the car.
"HORSEPOWER" ----is how fast you hit the fence.

Did not have the hand over at the factory but went up to watch it on the production line.
They look after you realy well and truly make it an event but is it value for money, not convinced.
I think the stealers could make a bit more of an effort but by then they have your money and so we should expect them not to give a Censored . letters not necessarily in the right order

This is interesting, my S Class Merc came with the option of delivery or collection at the factory, I chose the latter my car came out, my name was called and I went down, Adolf or whatever his name was talked me through all the controls, I got a factory tour, I got nibbles and I (and a friend) got flown out to Stuttgart first class with a night at a hotel. Obviously there was Champagne and Flowers on the back seat. The car had to have temporary number plates so I could drive it home on the continent, however they had made arrangements with a local dealer to fit UK plates FOC

Don't know if Merc still do it but it was a very pleasant experience, value for money didn't come into it, as it was simply in lieu of the delivery charge. Geoff

I can confirm this is the procedure and it is indeed a nice experience.
The 'reveal' of the vehicle is quite something too.
It only takes half a day on-site, on top of the drive round trip of course. A light meal is indeed provided in a dedicated room/lounge with nice Range Rover related decor.

You will travel in a LWB - all boxes ticked - L405 indeed.

Enjoy the day and report Thumbs Up l=Oo\________/oO=l l:OolΞΞΞΞΞΞΞloO:l

I've seen someone's video of it online. It looked very impressive. Certainly put my dealers effort (car parked in the rain out the front of the dealership, keys tossed to me, invited to inspect the outside in the drizzle, "you've had one of these before so no need to talk you over the controls", no flowers, no champagne) into rather the starkest of shades.

But the handover comes at a phenomenal price.

You pays your money and takes your choice.

Lol at Emperor mong's comment!

Car parked outside in the drizzle and keys tossed over to you. Sounds abouts right does that after all you are only handing over 100+ grand.

As its a part of the price on the SVA and you pay for it regardless of if you have it or not, I thought what the heck, lets do it and was wondering if the stories you hear were actually true was all Thumbs Up "UNDERSTEER" ----is when you hit the fence with the front of the car.

Hi All

I popped over to the RRS forum yesterday and found a thread that mentions the Factory Handover and gives a name and number for the department that run it so I gave them a call Thumbs Up

They mentioned 3 types of visit and I shall give a brief description of each below;

1, This is the full factory handover experience where you are picked up from home (or a place of your liking) and driven to the factory. The day then goes something like this - Meridian Sound Experience, brunch or lunch depending on when you get there, a few hours off road, your car presented in a light show and then the personal handover where one of the LR team hand over your car and spend as much time with you as you like going through the controls/apps/screens etc.

2, Factory tour where you follow your car being built along the production line for approx 4 hours - apparently depending on who is there you may even get to help build your car and also sign or initial it somewhere.

3, Pre-order experience where you visit the factory and go through the build you have suggested with the LR team and discuss colours, interior trim and what to have on your specific car - they show you lots of swabs and you actually get a visual experience of your built car somehow.

I have missed loads off so sorry I have not done any of these visits justice but suffice to say I am trying to arrange the "build experience" visit and also going for the handover experience Thumbs Up "UNDERSTEER" ----is when you hit the fence with the front of the car.
"OVERSTEER" ------is when you hit the fence with the rear of the car.
"HORSEPOWER" ----is how fast you hit the fence.
"TORQUE" -----------is how far you take the fence with you.
