United Kingdom 2017 Range Rover Autobiography SDV8 Corris Grey
Model Year Features

Hi,

I'm looking at moving onto a 2016, 2017 or possibly 2018 FFRR. VSE or Autobiography and 3.0 or 4.4. I'm aware that the sweet spot is possibly the VSE as we have a 15MY VSE.

Are there any good features added in each year across the VSE and AB that should drive me to a particular year or later? The features list is endless and important things aren't jumping out at me.

Thanks, 17 MY Corris Grey 4.4 VAB

You really want model year 17+ for the infotainment upgrade or model year 19+ for the dual screen setup, i would not consider a MY16, however for each step up its a significant £££..

Wasn't it 18+ for the dual centre screens?

To me, a few important things (having already had them) were adaptive cruse and the 360 cameras which were standard on the AB but options on the VSE.

Ideally you need to find brochures from those years but I couldn't when trying to make the same decision you are.

I decided that the infotainment upgrade was important but the screen for the climate wasn't so much so ended up with a late 2017 model.

Good hunting.

Oh on the engines, I looked for a 4.4 as already had one in my L322 and has the corner levelling thingie (insert real name here) that the 3.0 didn't have.

On weight of them, the L405 isn't much lighter as picked my L405 up sat and went home via the weigh bridge (which I had gone on earlier that morning with the L322) and was only about 100Kg lighter not the 500Kg some has suggested.

I think the infotainment upgrade is worth it but the dual screens are, IMHO, a step backwards. Had a 2019 RRS loaner for a week and the user interface between the 2 screens was rubbish. Really illogical in the way functions/controls are presented across screens. Fashion dictated they needed to have it, I understand that, but it actually detracts from the driving and ownership experience in my view
