Wahoo, got my fatty today

Well I have done the deed, I am now the owner of a fatty, she is a 2008 (0Cool 3.6 TDV8 Vogue SE, black with black interior, 113000 miles, she needs a good clean and polish but body wise there are 2 or 3 car park dinks down the side (very small) a very small rust patch on the offside rear wheel arch above the sill where the door closes on it and one bit of gutter trim missing above the windscreen.

20 inch Evoke wheels with 275/40's, a bit kerbed but will get them done.

She drives like a dream, no knocks or rattles, loads of power and puts a really big smile of my face.

No phone or Bluetooth (can bluetooth be added) no venture cam (I can live without it......for now lol)
parking sensors do not work (one long beep when selecting reverse) but the camera works fine and one of the boot cables is broken (ordered one already)

Apart from that as far as I know everything else works, I love the adaptive lights (although weird seeing them turn the corner) and the climate seats (nice cold bum)

Oh and I have ordered a heater remote for her (missing)

Will post pics tomorrow when I have given her a polish. Very Happy

Ewoke wheels are different pcd, so probably Sport version.
Replace both tailgate straps as they are usually shot if one has failed.
Welcome to the wallet drain of RR ownership also. Whistle

Oh right, had a look on Ebay and only saw them wheels as Evoke, makes sense as sport wheels though

Had to work today (in the van) but did have a little play lunchtime , the FBH remote arrived, paired that and it seems to work fine, its too warm for the heater to kick in but it does bring the fan on for ventilation, might be cold enough in the morning to try it on heating.
Had a poke about in the cubby's and there is indeed a BT module, gave the wires a poke and a prod, he presto LAND ROVER appeared on my phone BT, paired it and all is good (re connects too)

Went to Halfords on the way home and got some decent polish and new cloth's and also picked up a pair of LED side light bulbs to try, they will go in tomorrow but of course I did have to 'try' the polish when I got home, one side and the bonnet later Laughing

Check each parking sensor individually because if one fails, the whole system fails.

If it's just one, it's a nice and cheap fix.

Are the fronts the same as the rears? I was thinking I could swap them over then see if the rears work when in reverse or does that bring the fronts on too?

FBH works, was below 16 earlier, turned it on and hey presto heat...…. think the battery is past its best though, when I bought it yesterday it was flat, not totally, the car would still lock and unlock but wouldn't turn over, seemed to charge ok on the way home and has started ok since but the FBH knocked it down too low again and had to jump it.
Going to put it on charge tomorrow while I am playing and see how it picks up, if not its a case of oh well £200 for a new battery, never mind.

Regarding the parking sensors, if any one sensor, front or rear fails then both front and rear functionality is lost. So to fault find by elimination will require an additional parking sensor.
I fixed mine and found the faulty sensor had a broken/ corroded pin.

FYI, to check each parking sensor you can either listen to each one and you will hear a fast ticking or put a finger on the sensor and feel the sensor pulse. The wires are very thin so it is possible that one has broken. It’s a very worthwhile exercise to do as mine didn’t work for a number of years and when I got them working it was like having a new car as I could park in more spaces!!

Good luck and enjoy the ride

Regards

John
