United Kingdom 2011 Range Rover Vogue SE TDV8 Baltic Blue

I have renewed today for 12 months with Admiral, no mention of needing Tracker.
It just really bugs me that my quote had gone up by £40 from last year, but after 10 minutes on “Go compare” and a five minute call to Admiral, I have got it down to £25 less than last year with the same cover exactly from Admiral.
Small change from £400.00

Same. I’m currently with admiral and done the 21 days before renewal quotes. Only Direct Line wanted a tracker, none of the usual suspects wanted any details. My renewal though hasn’t come in the post yet.

Insurance help question

Mmmm. All confused...

Didn’t need tracker last year

I have the Range Rover built in control, which I assume is a tracker. CONFIRM ANYONE?

anyway this year saga ( I didn’t say that) wanted an extra £100 +

Did all the searches...didn’t get any joy until I said it had the tracker & price came down to £300. Liv vict. Filters are in fact so good that in certain circumstances, when the ambient air is already polluted, a diesel car will tend to extract more particles from the air than it emits. Emissions Analytics worked with........etc etc

You do need to hammer A-Plan -- I actually got cheaper quotes from elsewhere, but took that back to A-plan and they got within £20 -- so went with them -- no tracker required Smile -- They placed me with Markerstudy (new name for Zenith)

Have to say they've been pretty good since someone decided it was a good idea to write-off a Citreon C1 into the back of me at 40MPH whilst I was stationary!

Thats odd - my last (pre RR) vehicle - a modified VW Transporter was through A-Plan & with Markerstudy but their quote for the RR was very pricy.
Ended up with Direct Line which as others have found out was cheaper with my wife as additional driver. 2003 Range Rover Vogue TD6

Bit late to the party...

only just seen this thread so firstly... apologies for arriving late to the party Rolling with laughter

Trackers - tends to be more down to value, so if your vehicle has increased in value then the new need for a tracker makes sense, there are ther factors like if a lot of theft in your area but this isn't commonly seen - it's mainly value. It could be that your insurers have changed their value limit for not requiring a tracker, some insurers say over £40k, some over £50k for example but their policies do change when reviewed so this may be the reason.

Also, in regards to renewal, at A-Plan we do like to refresh details as it comes around... we speak to most people once a year and we miss you so do like a chat at renewal lol but seriously, minor changes can impact premium so it's worth just having a quick run through to make sure we are quoting correctly: you may have changed occupation, use the car slightly less now, or maybe it's not needed for work anymore... all are common things that people forget to tell us so we sent out invites based on last years details. I'd be rich if I had £1 for everytime I've been told "everything is the same I don't need to update anything" for them to then mention later in conversation they are no longer married... but their wife/husband is still on the policy Embarassed oops! For the 5 minutes it takes to check details - it's definitely worth making sure your info is correct.

If we have an alternate rate we can go to some insurers with it and ask if there's anything they can do, sometimes they will reduce their premiums but not always - no harm in asking though Very Happy it's our job to try and get the best price and cover for you so if there's a chance we can use your alternate rate to speak to insurers further then we will Smile

That being said we can't win them all Big Cry but it's worth checking again at renewal as insurers requirements and schemes do change when they review them Thumbs Up
