England 2007 Range Rover Vogue TDV8 Santorini Black
Rear disc replacement and the electronic park brake.

Hi, I'm about to renew my 2008 tdv8 l322 rear discs and pads having done the fronts this week.
I'm confused about the epb complication though.
I was going to simply back off the toothed adjuster wheel inside the disc/ drum to give shoe clearance, slide off the disc and replace the shoes IF need be and the discs and pads.
Should I leave the handbrake in the OFF position throughout? Should I disconnect the battery or correct handbrake fuse?
Does diagnostics have to be involved at any point to set shoes up before or after fitting? I know about the bedding in procedure faff. Thanks wise folks in advance! Thumbs Up 2008 L322 Vogue 3.6 TDV8 in Java Black with parchment and Navy interior. 125000mls.

I used to be indecisive and have a split personality... but we are ok now...I think?

Not 100% sure but handbrake off wind back the adjuster remove and replace shoes with new retainers new discs wind up adjuster to lock the brakes on I think something like 40 nm of resistance then back off 8 clicks equalise the the shoes by releasing the Alan bolt opposite the brake adjuster re tighten to I think 6 nm then follow the bedding in process
It's in the wiki I think Thumbs Up
From experience make sure all retainers clips etc are correct and secure other wise it's an unjam procedure either thro idd tool or manually which is a right pita ( from my disco days )

SEE HERE
(read the whole thing)

Do not work on the rear brakes (EPB) without disabling the EPB !

EPB Off, pull the fuse. .

When I did mine, I’d read somewhere to leave the gearbox in N, EPB off and open the driver’s door; all of which allegedly prevents the EPB from automatically activating.

I followed the above without any problems and the disc changes went very smoothly. Si. <This is my name.

From the workshop manual:

Quote:
Using the Land Rover approved diagnostic system, drive
the parking brake to the mounting position.

Disconnect the battery ground cable.
