United Kingdom 2011 Range Rover Vogue TDV8 Barolo Black
New member and a new owner !

Hi Guys,
just joined.
So I had a bit of an impulse buy last Friday. I am now the owner of a 2011 4.4 TDV8 vogue.
Im picking it up on tuesday around midday.
Im not new to landrovers. I currently own a 2000 P38 4.6 and love it to bits. and have been rebuilding a 300TDI disco for the past few years.

Also, I have my first question !!

What do people think of used car warranty insurance ? Ive been looking at Warranty wise. got a quote from them of about £90 a month.
Has anyone had any experiences with them ? Are they worth taking out ?

When I bought the P38 loads of people had horrendous horror stories of what money pits they were but ive had 7 good years of comfortable, fast and reliable motoring with it.

So, picking it up on Tuesday will post some pics when I get it home.

Andy

Can't help with the warranty question I'm afraid, but a warm welcome to the forum.

Northern Ireland 2012 Range Rover Vogue 4.4 V8 Java Black

Andy,

A warm welcome to the forum. About 18 months ago I bought my first Range Rover - 2012 MY 4.4 TDV8. It was bought from the Vogue Centre and came with 6 month Warranty Wise cover. I have no complaints what so ever about Warranty Wise. When my 6 months cover was up I took out a further 12 months - I think it is platinum cover - £1100. So far I have got my money back and am in the black! Last thing was a leaking rear shocker. Both rears were replaced under warranty - appro £800 including vat and labour. The guys at my local indy (BLRC Saintfield) were telling me that Warranty Wise are good to work with. My advice to anybody buying a Range Rover of this vintage is to bite the bullet and buy a good warranty.

I hope you Range Rover ownership goes well.

ps Like yourself I am a Defender owner - you really need one of each.

My mistake - you are a Disco owner! Still, it's a Land Rover!!

I used Warranty Direct for my TDV8 and they were superb. As long as you play their game by their rules. I would caveat that my experience was before they were sold to their new owners so might be worth looking at more up to date reviews. 2011 Range Rover Vogue 4.4 TDV8

Thanks guys, ive gone with warranty wise in the end.

Ive got the car home, its very different to my P38 4.6 !!

Early days yet, few niggles with it but nothing of any note.

Oh and loving the MPG !! im getting an average of 31mpg at the mo (mixed driving styles!!) compared to my P38 (15/16mpg)

I have a Nanocom with all the P38 licenses in it, its been ages since I used it or even logged onto the Nanocom/Blackbox web site. (shows how reliable my 2000 p38 is !!!)

I was going to sell the Nanocom with the old rangy but might keep it now and get the L322 licence for it. Although for the price of the licence I almost get a lynx evo. Haven't decided yet.

To be honest I don't want to sell the P38 at all but my wife has other ideas !!!

Im away with work at the mo. when I get back Ive booked the new car into my local independent landrover garage to give it the once over and give me their verdict !!

Hope its a small list !!

Andy

Top of their list should be ti whip off engine cover and pollen filter box and check the egr oil cooler in the V for oil leaks. Most will need doing. Lots of info on here about it Thumbs Up Gone to a good home: 2011 4.4 TDV8 Vogue SE Buckingham Blue with Ivory and clear glass = "Rory"
