Apologies if this has been posted somewhere already. I did a quick search but couldn't find anything specific. (No doubt due to my limited searching capabilities).

From my other post about the key not turning, my son purchased another battery for the Rangie. I'm reluctant to let him fit it until I research it, as I have a vague memory from my husband fitting a new battery 3 or 4 years ago that something specific has to be done to reset the electronics, or something along those lines.

Any tips would be greatly appreciated. I don't fancy taking out the old one and something going astray and not being able to drive it at all.

Iv disscconnected mine a few time with no issues just turn the ignition off wait 10 mins then crack on

Remember to put the bonnet in full access, and the battery is heavy as fook!

There’s an excellent write up in the wiki above, just scroll down and look for battery fitting procedure in the electrical section.... and use step ladders - I do and I’m 6 foot 3..👍🏻

Thanks. Son managed to change battery without any major dramas. Hasn't cured the original problem though so now I'm well and truly stumped.

mine has a sticker next to the hood latch. has images showing waiting 2 minutes or something after removing the key from ignition before disconnecting the battery. mainly to save corrupting the satnav. im sure its mention in the owners manual too.
