Are you sure it wasn’t due to a rear caliper sticking ? Sounds just like how i noticed a sticking caliper on mine

Yep that was what we thought and that was the first thing we did no smells from there I’m either. It was getting worse when idling too... Current stable:

Could have been tne alternator rectifier on the way out. Thats the smell I got a few days before it gave up. Simple fix if it was that |

Next thing to check would be the air compressor for suspension.
