Is Revive a "snake oil" con?

What's the consensus about Revive, Nano, and other wonder engine cleaners? Has anyone got evidence of REAL benefits of using them beyond a placebo effect?
Am I paying £35-40 for a 750ml bottle of water essentially with god knows what mixed in it? Thanks Thumbs Up 2008 L322 Vogue 3.6 TDV8 in Java Black with parchment and Navy interior. 125000mls.

There are a few YouTube videos and all seem to suggest it works.
I have bought two bottles but haven’t tried it yet. 2010 MY Vogue SE TDV8 3.6 Stornoway Grey- fully loaded

I have sticky vanes in my 2.4 puma 90. I tried fuel additive over 1000 miles, no difference.

Tried revive, I haven't had any of the claimed better response, pick up, mpg blah blah, but I also havent had limp mode either since using it. But only 500 miles in since application. So far it's looking good but time will tell! Cheers

James

Tbh, when you need 2 bottles at £35-40 each I"d pay the extra for a terraclean. 2007 Vogue TDV8 in Zermatt Silver with Charcoal

Hmm, Terraclean, I had also thought about this, but know a guy who`s Mondeo was never the same afterwards, and not in a good way. I would be interested if anyone has has any good experience of Terraclean or HHO cleaning.

Mmm? I'm sceptical still to be honest. I can't get my head around Revive fluid surviving the cylinder ignition temps to then continue to travel through exhaust valves and through and over turbo blades in a split second but still managing to remove crud, surely all that's seen emerging from exhausts is just steam? I regularly use Dipetane. Came across it when I had problems with the fuel pressure regulator sticking. I was told the only fix was a new high pressure fuel pump at €1200 + labour. I asked SWMBO to get some injector cleaner thinking I had nowt to lose and she came home with Dipetane. I put in the tank and gave the fatty an Italian tune over 30 miles or so. Problem solved. 18 months later it's still going well.
Ive probably spent around a €100 on the stuff so far so I figure Im still well over a grand up on the deal and I continue to use it.
It gets a big Thumbs Up from me 2007 Vogue TDV8 in Zermatt Silver with Charcoal

I ran the revive treatment yesterday. Hard to tell any massive differences yet but the throttle response seems a little better. Seems to pick up quicker. 2010 MY Vogue SE TDV8 3.6 Stornoway Grey- fully loaded
