Here's the label listing the gas quantities, unless I can't read, where's the oil info?

Does the '+' indicate the oil, or the max + gas amount? 2012 4.4 TDV8 Westminster - Baltic Blue, Jet interior

Mate, pay someone with the right gear and knowledge to do it. Get it wrong and it will cost a lot more. You can overcharge the system and do damage.
The 700g is the amount of gas in grams the system needs for front only. 880g for front and rear system. The plus or minus is the tolerance the system allows. Ie. 690 g to 710g is within the range.
PAG SP10 is the oil type and its normally around 50ml of oil but it varies. If you blow the compressor you will need a new one + evaporator and drier and labour and it will relieve you of a grand.
Forgive me being blunt but your questions indicate that you don't really know what you are doing and on air con systems that gets expensive but its your choice. 2007 Vogue TDV8 in Zermatt Silver with Charcoal

Not blunt, just unhelpful assumptions.

If you read my question I asked how much oil is normally in the system...nothing more.

My mechanic drew out alot of oil, far more than what he expected which may explain why the system not working as well as it should. I've no plans in touching the system mysef. Removal of this seemingly excessive oil enabled the system to blow icy cold whereas before it was not and was temperamental.

And as we can't find how oil it should hold...hence my question. 2012 4.4 TDV8 Westminster - Baltic Blue, Jet interior

No, actual oil additional and separate to the gas/refrigerant which is apparently as equally important to get right as the gas itself and does have an impact if it's overfilled or underfilled. 2012 4.4 TDV8 Westminster - Baltic Blue, Jet interior

My apologies for the assumptions. I just didn't want you to make an expensive mistake and do a diy job.
The oil amount is dependent on the compressor type and manufacturer. I believe it to be a Sanden. It might show the oil amount on the compressor label.
Your problem is you dont know how much oil is left in the system as well as not knowing the total amount needed.
It might be worth flushing the system to start from scratch and find out from sanden the oil amount needed.
I hope that is more helpful Thumbs Up 2007 Vogue TDV8 in Zermatt Silver with Charcoal

Thanks, Grofus! Thumbs Up

LOL, no plans on working on it myself, being in rural Spain miles from the main dealer I've got a good mechanic but he's no L322/RR guru...no one in these parts is!

We are going through a conservative process of elimination with the hope of avoiding to do a compressor replacement. We've confirmed there are no leaks. If the oil route (for whatever reason) is not an option then its new compressor. But, last night it ran like a dream so hopefully removing the excess oil *may* have done the trick.

Ok mate. Makes you wonder why there was so much oil in it. As you know it causes as many issues as not enough.

My advice as its working. Do a full recovery and flush, then recharge with correct charge weight and oil amount. You will need to do that if the compressor goes pop anyway plus other bits mentoined earlier. So i guess we are back to your first question, lol, how much oil. Rolling with laughter
I would go on the Sanden website and ask them. Thumbs Up
The other option is leave it and chance it. Be lucky. 2007 Vogue TDV8 in Zermatt Silver with Charcoal
