I’m seriously thinking of carrying out this modification to my MY12 Westminster.

I’ve read this thread and others, and think I understand what I need, which is the radar unit, bracket and short cable and the later switch assembly (LR029647). I already have an IID tool.

The big question is, I’ve spotted a radar unit which has the number BH32-9G768 AC, the only difference being AC instead of AD.

Does anyone know if this is compatible?

I'm concerned at the BW32 rather than BH32 used in these vehicles as this indicates a different vehicle model. I don't know what vehicle uses the BW32 prefix but the one that I bought with CX23 prefix was from a Jag which had to have its firmware replaced with MY11/12 RR firmware before it would be recognised, presumably by the BCM.

Make sure that the radar unit has its 3 rubber mounting grommets.

The left switch bank is LR029644. The RH matching colour switch LR029647 is only required if your switches are the earlier grey rather than black versions.

Many thanks for the tips. The module I’ve purchased comes on it’s bracket with the short cable attached. It looks like it has grommets on in the holes where the the fixings pass through on the way to the bracket.

I did try to post a photo, but I’m not having much luck with that at the moment.

I have a 2012 MY so I think the switches are the later "black" ones

All fitted and calibrated just as outlined in this thread. Works a treat! I'm still getting used to the braking effect (harshness) of "queue assist" and not sure if I actually trust it. But the follow mode is brilliant for what I need.

Only one problem to sort; similar to Nick Evans, I've lost the horn function on the new(LHS) switches so it look like I'm going to need the corresponding RHS switch is (LR029647). Even though the new and the old switches match in colour and my VIN is CAxxx.

This can wait for another day though

Whilst I don't use braking to a stand-still, I like that emergency braking is active all the time even though the forward alert warning is occasionally triggered when I'm fully aware of a vehicle just ahead.

I assume that your switches are now slightly different colours but more than that, functionality is different too!

I might turn off the queue assist. It works ok, but just very jerky in slow moving rush hour traffic.

The switches look the same colour and all the functionality appears to be as it should I’m hoping that Nick can confirm that changing the RHS switch solves the problem.

I did look at the diagram and put my meter across the "old" switch, in the hope of resolving any pin-out changes. But further investigation into the switch pack itself reveals that it’s not as simple as one would’ve hoped.

I’ll order a RHS switch pack and hope that solves the problem.

Disabling QA will mean that ACC drops out when the vehicle has slowed to 40 kph/25 mph IIRC so you could just cancel ACC as traffic slows so at least you are in control of when ACC disables rather than be informed that it has cancelled allowing the vehicle to roll on.

Edit: All MY11 switches changed starting with VIN BA349700. I hadn't spotted that earlier MY11 left switch including adaptive buttons is a different part number to the later adaptive switch.

The part number for the left ACC switch bank for MY11 up to BA349699 is LR023197, which does not supersede to the later switch without changing both switches. MY10 use different part numbers again.

The number for the RH switch to match with the latest LH ACC switch is LR029648 according to my late 2012 copy of Microcat, with LR029647 the matching RH switch for the latest manual CC LH switch. I had previously considered the latest RH switch to be the same switch for both ACC and manual CC LH switches. However I replaced only the LH switch in my MY12 yet everything works AFAIK but perhaps I should test that both horn buttons work, although I think that I would have discovered that one side doesn't work by now.

There are 2 steering wheel diagrams in Microcat referencing the switches, with the ACC version off the bottom of the screen so has to be scrolled up to be seen. I suspect that I had forgotten about the lower picture after my initial investigations and have incorrectly simplified the particular switches involved, although my RH switch is still the manual CC version which I assume is LR029647.
