Missing bracket?

Can anyone tell me if I'm missing a bracket or strap or something in the spare wheel well that holds the jack in place? I think I might be.

Shouldn't there be something attached through those two holes in the carpet and into the metalwork? 09 RR Westminster 3.6TDV8 - Stornoway Grey / Black interior - now gone (sad face)

Tugger -- the best thing you can do with that is throw it in the bin -- certainly wouldn't try to use it!

If you're referring to the bolt holes that is for the spare wheel lift kit

Hope that helps Current: 2011 FFRR Vogue SE 4.4 TDV8

I take it it’s pretty useless then? Not had occasion to use it yet but it does look kind of flimsy now you mention it 09 RR Westminster 3.6TDV8 - Stornoway Grey / Black interior - now gone (sad face)

Others report stripped threads, or worse snapped screw thread bar! Current: 2011 FFRR Vogue SE 4.4 TDV8

Yes indeed, heard several tales of Fatties "kneeling" down on their brake discs as a result of those jacks, IIRC I saw some mention of a potential class action suit over safety and them being not fit for purpose.

I've also seen on here Sprinter Van bottle jacks with adapted top fittings that go into the lifting points which are much more robust and elegant. Formerly happymadison1978

Oh dear that doesn’t sound good at all. Will swing by Aldi later, heard they were doing 2 ton hydraulic lift jacks the other day 09 RR Westminster 3.6TDV8 - Stornoway Grey / Black interior - now gone (sad face)
