I walked away from a deal today. In my neck of the woods good, used l322s are pretty rare. I am always looking out at the market and was pleased to see a 2011 TDV8 come up privately. Lots of lovely pics, 2nd owner for 6 1/2 years. After a week the asking was dropped 10% which made me more interested so I messaged the seller with an offer subject to inspection. The seller agreed so I went to view, cash deposit in my hand. From 50 meters the car was a stunner, Autobiography body kit and genuine 22” AB rims. On close inspection the car had dozens of digs all around at shopping trolley height, n/s rear door long shopping trolley scratch, the rear upper tailgate had a golf ball sized dent, one of the jacking point covers was missing and several puncture wounds to the rear bumper. It was also advertised as a Luxury pack model which I knew was false. It never ceases to amaze me how some owners present their vehicle for sale, I just got warnings flashing up in my brain that if he thinks this is ok left untouched what else lies beneath. I did not even open the car's door, just told the guy I thought he would do better getting the bodywork sorted to get a fair price. I am still mildly interested so will watch progress if it does not sell I will try a very ambitious offer. 2007 TDV8 VSE

Private seller, I just don't get how they think someone is going to be attracted by neglect. I am sure a decent body shop could make it look much better if not perfect for not much outlay. 2007 TDV8 VSE

When shopping for cars, houses and other big ticket items, I used to ‘humor’ the seller if it wasn’t as described or just wasn’t for me for some reason, now I just say it’s not for me and go straight away, no point in wasting mine or there time... this gets mixed reactions from the sellers, some appreciate the candor but some get p@ssed off for ‘wasting their time’ which makes me laugh as that is exactly the opposite of what I am doing. |

I thought the B word was banned in this forum Filters are in fact so good that in certain circumstances, when the ambient air is already polluted, a diesel car will tend to extract more particles from the air than it emits. Emissions Analytics worked with........etc etc He who dies with the most toys wins... |
