I was failing the second year of my degree course, wondering if I really wanted to follow a career in property, which itself was a second choice after I discovered at 19 I would never pass the medical for pilot training in the Fleet Air Arm. Had wanted to be a pilot since I was at junior school, influenced in no small measure by those men who had fought in the air during WW2, like the subject of the link in the OP. Doing all that at 21, just awe inspiring. |
