Radio problems

Hi all I have acquired a 2004 vogue and have a problem with the radio. On the radio head some times I can switch it on and off. And sometimes the if various buttons work and I get music. I have it all striped out and I can see no corrosion inside I have tried moving the main wiring in case a loose connection but no use. Do you think it is a radio head problem or something else. Radio head

Anyone got any ideas on this is it the radio head or the receiver in the boot. I know it's a boring one.

It's the stuff in the rear left had cubby box in the boot you need to be looking at!

I would suggest a nice long sunny day -- remove all units -- take lids off -- inspect carefully

Have contact cleaner and a toothbrush, soldering iron, various solid and multicore short lengths of cable, and some heat shrink available

It'll be fun, honest! Current: 2011 FFRR Vogue SE 4.4 TDV8

Radio problems

Hi bushy thanks for taking the time to reply. I have today striped out the left hand side boxs and the sat nav is fried and the radio receiver (with 10 amp fuse in) has water damage I have cleaned it up with contact cleaner an tooth brush but it's still not working maybe fried also. It gets very warm in places after a couple of minutes. I think a second hand replacement is worth a try.

It might be worth finding someone close to you with a working set and see if you can borrow units to plug in and see what happens Current: 2011 FFRR Vogue SE 4.4 TDV8

I have sent the control box off to be repaired. hopefully that will NOT be the start of a process of elimination. Maybe radio head next💰💰

I got the unit back from the repair shop on the weekend and all is working fine now brilliant service and a very helpfull chap.
If you want his details pm me as I don't think I am allowed to post details on here. I have covered it all with plastic sheeting just in case I don't spot the leak.
